Caribbean Princess

We have had several visits this year from Caribbean Princess, yesterday being her final visit.

She had a late departure with many of her passengers being at Edinburgh Military Tattoo in the evening.

The mist threatened to to obscure her 2am departure, but lifted enough to make her visible.

I took a trip to Customhouse Quay first as Waverley was berthed overnight.

MSC Magnifica

The second of two ships to visit Greenock today, MSC Magnifica arrived a little before eight o'clock this morning.

While Aida Cara was tying up at the ocean terminal canted and slowly backed in at the west side of the terminal.

Clydeport's workboat Torch was on hand to assist with the ropes as Magnifica pulled alongside the dock.

German cruise liner Aida Cara made an early morning arrival on the Clyde today.

The sun tried several times to break through the clouds.

As always, she looked happy to be here.

Aberdovey

While on our way to Roseneath towait for the departure of the US sub, we happened to notice a ship beached at Garelochhead. 

Having a prior engagement, we decided to wait till we were heading back home to stop for a closer look.

By this time the tide was on its way in and covered the entire bottom of the boat.

Aberdovey started out as a MOD fleet tender and is now aparently up for sale.

US Sub outbound

As the saying goes, what goes up must come down.

On Thursday a US Nave sub sailed in to Faslane. Today it headed back to sea.

Several of the crew lined up on the fore and aft decks as she was escorted down the Gareloch by tugs and MOD police launches.

Vision of the Seas

An early rise for Vsin of the Seas coming in this morning.

Her scheduled arrival time was 7am, but as is usual, she was early.

She is scheduled to depart at 7 o'clock this evening.

Deep Sea World

It's been a long time since my last visit to Deep Sea World at North Queensferry.

We had a great day out, but the light levels were too low in most of the exhibits for me to get as many pictures as I would have liked.

I found it easier to get useable pictures of the amphibians as they were a lot slower moving than the fish.

By the time it came to editing and uploading my pictures I had forgotten the names for most of the species.
