Glasgow at Night

Once in a while I take a trip to the big city to see the bright lights.

Last week we went up hoping to see some of the Christmas lights around George Square before they came down.

We stopped around the Squinty Bridge and took some pictures of the bridges in that part of the city and of the  buildings alongside.

We then went to George Square but were disappointed that the attractions were away and high fences put up around the square. I did however get some pictures which I will add on a separate blog.

We then moved down to the Gallery of Modern Art which always looks good at night, helped by the ground being damp from the light showers causing added reflections.

Electric Glen

Now in its second year, East Renfrewshire Council have created a spectacular winter light display at Rouken Glen Park.

One of their woodlands walks has been transformed with the help of clever lighting displays and music.

The event was attended by thousands over the space of two weekends.

The large crowds sometimes made it difficult to capture clear images. I'm sure that in more than one picture you will find ghostly images of passers-by.

Clyde square Christmas lights

My last post of 2013 is of Greenock's Christmas lights at Clyde square.

The month of December has been very wet and windy here, but I've managed to find one of our better days to get some pictures of our lights on the Town Buildings and in Clyde Square.

Happy New Year to everyone for 2014. I look forward to posting many more pictures in the nest 12 months.
