East Fortune Airshow 2015

Having been washed out of East Fortune the last time I visited, I had been hoping for better weather for a return trip to their annual airshow.

As can bee seen from my pictures, the weather started off sunny and grew cloudier as the day progressed with the rain coming on around 4pm. Fortunately this was a light enough shower which didn't cause many problems.

We had a wide range of aircraft displaying, from biplanes to the RAF's current Typhoon fighter jet.

More pictures will be added to my Picasa gallery as I edit them.

Scottish Airshow

With the demise of RAF Leuchars, Scotland lost one of its few airshows.

The hole was filled this year with the revival of the Prestwick Airshow after an absence of 22 years.

The airshow was held over 2 days but I only managed to the free flying display on the Saturday which was held at Low Green in Ayr.

Below are some of the acts who performed at Ayr. More pictures can be viewed in my gallery.

East Fortune airshow, part 2

Some more pictures taken on Saturday's trip to East Fortune airshow. Hats off to the crews in the open cockpits for enduring some extreme downpours during their displays.

East Fortune airshow

Yesterday was the first day of my "summer holidays". It was also my first visit to East Fortune airfield in East Lothian.

More than one heavy downpour tried hard to ruin the day but a good show was put on by the aircrews and the commentator.
